Saraswati Puja and Ayudha Puja is celebrated on October 11, 2024 (Friday) in Tamilnadu. The tools used in ones profession is prayed on this day
Ayudha Pooja and Saraswati Pooja is celebrated on Maha Navami of Navarathri. Navarathiri is celebrated from Oct 3rd to Oct 11th, 2024. Vijayadasami is on October 12 (Saturday).
Saraswathi Puja Celebration :
Goddess Saraswathi is the Goddess of Knowledge. During Saraswathi Puja, people will pray the sacred books, musical instruments, machinery, tools that they use including computer, vehicles etc.
Special Homam, Abhishekam, Puja and Aarti will be held at temple. Purnahuti of Chandi Homam will take place on this day (Maha Navami).
Ayudha Puja:
Tools & accessories used in ones profession is placed in front of Goddess Saraswathi & worshipped on this day. All the tools, grantham, ayudham are worshipped on this day
For example: Law books are tools for lawyers, Medical books, accesories are tools for Doctors, Music Books, instruments are tools for Singers etc.
Golu in South India:
In South India, devotees will arrange dolls of God, Goddess in steps in their puja room during Navaratri, depicting various themes. This is called as Bommai 'Kolu' or 'Golu'
Friends, Relatives will be invited to see Golu. Daily Special Puja will be held and prasad, kumkum will be distributed to those coming to see Kolu.

In 2025, Ayudha Pooja is on October 1, 2025 (Wednesday)
