Vinayagar Chaturthi is celebrated on September 14, 2026 (Monday)
Lord Ganesha is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. Lord Ganesha is the head of all the 'Ganas' i.e., devoted followers and attendants of Lord Shiva.
Lord Ganapati is worshiped at the start of any venture to remove obstacles. One way of by which Lord Ganesh removes obstacles is by changing the mindset of those creating troubles i.e., making trouble creators feel 'let me not hinder the effort of others'. Feeling so they stop hindering the efforts and thus obstacles are removed by Lord Vigneshwara.
