- Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations scaled down in Mumbai compared to last year - There was no mass gathering of devotees compared to last year - Also there was ban on loudspeakers - The gathering on Visarjan first day was comparatively lower - Totally 40,823 idols were immersed - Out of which 39,845 idols were from houses & 978 idols from public places - 22,859 idols were immersed in artificial made water bodies - Security arrangements will continue on other days of Visarjan too
- In Puducherry, idols worshipped at houses were immersed in water bodies - Marriages were held in Palani at the entrance gate of Pada Vinayagar Temple & Thiruvavinankudi Temple - People were worshipping at the entrance of Temple since entry was not allowed for devotees
- On Sashti August 24, special puja, abhishekam was held in various Lord Subramanya Temple - Tomorrow August 26 is Durvashtami - Shukla Paksha Ashtami in the month of Avani is celebrated as Durvashtami
