- The cave means buddhi, the intellect Therein placed dwelling as the witness thereof is the Self who is Brahman Himself - He that knows him unlooses the tie
- Of Avidya while still here alive in the body Thus did Angiras the teacher teach his pupil Saunaka adressing him my dear Just as here in this world when the moon
- is fully eclipsed by the shadow of Rahu and her natural brilliancy darkened she shines of hereself stained in the sky while illuminating the shadow of Rahu as well and
- appears to have become one with the shadow so too the conscious Self who is non-dual and made up of bliss and bliss alone is himself veiled by the film of beginningless avidya
- And by reason of his non-duality and unadulterated bliss being thus overshadowed he becomes associated with the universe of manifold variety
- And feels very miserable. and while illumining himself and avidya by his own consciousness he identifies himself with avidya and speaks of himself as ignorant
- as though he had attained unity with avidya and it becomes unloosed by knowledge Just as the lunar orb shines brilliant when released from the shadow of Rahu so on the removal
- of the veil of avidya by knowledge the non-duality of the Self and his unalloyed bliss manifest themselves. This is the unloosening of the tie of avidya
- The same thing is taught in the Purana as weel in the following words - To that unknowable Self of wisdom who being well kept in the heart the yogin
