Sri Rama Navami 2020 - April 2, 2020 - When is Shri Ram Navami in 2020? Date, Time 2-4-20

Sri Ram Navami is celebrated on April 2, 2020 (Thursday). Shri Ram took birth at noon on 'Shukla paksha' Navami, (ninth day from Amavasya) in the Chaitra month.

In 2020, Navami Tithi starts at around 10.26 pm on April 1st night and ends at around 9.17 pm on April 2nd night

Followers of both Smarta Brahmins tradition and Vaishnava tradition celebrate Sri Ram Navami on April 2nd.

Lord Vishnu took avatar as Lord Ram to uphold dharma and destroy Raavan. Sri Rama Navami marks the end of nine-day Chaitra-Navratri celebrations.

'Ratha Yatra' (Chariot Procession) will be held at many places. 'Sree Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsav' is also held in many places. 

Sri Ram Navami Celebration:

At many places, statues or images of Lord Ram will be placed in cradles and swung with devotion using flower ropes.

Akhand Paath Pravachanam i.e., continuous recitals of Ramayana, will begin days in advance. Singing of bhajan, devotional keertans will be held at many places.

At temples special homams, abhishekam, puja, aarti will be done amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. Special flowers and fruits are offered to Lord Ram.

Lakhs of devotees will throng the temple to have the darshan of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Utsav Murthi of Lord Rama will bless devotees in the mada veethis of Temple.

In Sringeri (Karnataka), Tamil Nadu, Tirupati, BAPS Swami Narayan Tradition in Gujarat, Union Government of India Calendar, Sri Rama Navami is celebrated on April 2nd
