Heavy Rain - Schools, Colleges Holiday in Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur - Only Schools Leave in Chennai, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli - October 5-10-2018

Due to heavy rains holiday has been declared in 5 districts today October 5, 2018 (Friday) - Both schools and colleges will remain closed in Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur districts

In Chennai, Nellai, Tuticorin districts, only schools will remain closed - Red alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu and Kerala due to low pressure in Arabian Sea

Several parts of the state are receiving heavy rain - District Collectors have ordered the leave for schools in the 5 districts. Details of other districts awaited

Due to heavy continuous rain in all the School and College have been declared holiday. The announcement was made by District Collectors. 

The decision is normally taken for administrative reason like avoiding travelling inconvenience and spread of disease to students.
