Dussehra is celebrated on October 20, 2026 (Tuesday) in Delhi. Dussehra is celebrated on the 10th day in the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Ashvin Month.
Ram Lila will be held at many places in India where the huge cut-outs of Ravana, Kumbhakarna will be set on fire. Normally Prime Minister of India will participate in the Ram Leela event at New Delhi
Dussehra is also known as Vijayadasami, Dasara or Dashain. In Bengal, Kolkata - Sri Durga Visarjan will be held on Bijoya Dashami on Oct 21, 2026 (Wednesday). It marks the end of Durga Puja, Dasara celebration. The idols of Goddess Durga will be immersed in lake, river, sea on this day.
In Karnataka Vijayadashami is celebrated on Oct 21, 2026 (Wednesday). In Mysore Jamboo Savari, Torch Light Parade will be held on Oct 21st. Mysore Palace will be illuminated with nearly 1 lakh bulbs during Dasara.

In Tamil Nadu Vijayadasami is celebrated on Oct 20, 2026 (Tuesday). On this auspicious day of Vijayadashami, devotees will begin new ventures. Education for small kids 'Aksharabhyasam' will begin on this day. Kids will be made to write 'Om' in a plate of rice.
