- Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan joins a campaign against practice of Dowry, goes on a day's fast in response to call made by Gandhian organisations

- Kerala Governor also consoled the family of Victim suspected to be dead because of dowry harassment

- The Governor joined the fast from 8 am to 6 pm and was scheduled to attend Prayer meeting at Gandhi Bhavan at 4.30 pm

- The 'Sthreepaksha Keralam' initiative of the Government of Kerala emphasises the need to ensure dignity of women by saying no to dowry and related practices

- The Kerala Governor made an emotional appeal to women to say no to dowry when it was demanded during the time of marriage
