Aippasi Pournami Annabhishekam:
In Lord Shiva Temples in Tamil Nadu, Annabhishekam will be held for Lord Siva on Aipasi Pournami.
Lord Shiva will be swathed with cooked rice and decorated with boiled vegetables on this day. MahaDeeparadhanai will be held in the evening.
Thanjavur Sadhaya Vizha :
Aipasi Month Sathaya Nakshatiram is the birthday of Mamannan Raja Raja Chozhan. Special 2 day festival with cultural events will be held in Thanjavur Periya Kovil (Big Temple) on Oct 21st & 22nd, 2026.
On the Sathayam Day - 1st November
-- Morning 6.30 am - Function begins with Mangala Isai
-- Morning 7 am - New Dress will be distributed to Thanjai Periya Kovil employees
-- Morning 7.20 am - Garlanding of the statue of Mamannan Raja Raja Chozhan & offer of Respect by authorities of Tamil Nadu Government
-- Morning 8.00 am - Thirumurai Thiruveedhi Ula will be held
-- Morning 8.30 am - MahaAbhishekam for Sri Peruvudayar, Sri Periyanayagi (Sri Brihadeeshwarar Sri Brihannayagi) in Big Temple
-- Afternoon at around 1.30 pm - MahaDeeparadhanai Sri Peruvudayar, Sri Periyanayagi Amman
Special Bharathanatyam, Kaviarangam, Karutharangam, Pattimandram, Musical events, Award Distribution, Speeches by distinguished personalities will be held during the 2 day function. In previous years local holiday has been declared in Thanjavur District on the day of Sadhaya Vizha.
