Thaipusam is celebrated on 11 February, 2025 (Tuesday). On this auspicious day, devotees will worship Lord Muruga with great devotion.
Many devotees will take Kavadi, take Pal Kuddam, do Padayatra and have darshan of Lord Murugan in Temples on Thaipusam.

Festival in Other Temples:
- In Chidamabaram (Thillai) Panchamurthi Veedhi Ula, Thirthavari, Thaandava Darsanam Aarthi will be held on Thai Poosam
- In Madurai Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple, 12 Day Festival will be held during Thaipusam. Sri Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Theppotsavam will be held at Vandiyur Mariammam Theppa Kulam.
- Sri Ramalinga Swami became Jothi on this day. To remind this Jothi Tharisanam is held in Vadalur Temple.
- In Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple, 3 Day Theppotsavam will be held during ThaiPusam Pournami.
- In Malaysia it is a public holiday on Thaipusam. Lakhs of devotees will offer their prayers to Lord Muruga at Batu Caves (Pathumalai). Thousands of devotees will do pada yatra (walk / trek) 15km from Petaling Street area (Chinatown) to Batu caves. The cave entrance has 272 steps.
Thaipusam in Lord Muruga Temples:
In Temples, Special Abhishekam, Homam, Archana, Puja, Deeparadhanai will be held to Lord Subramanya.
Special Abhishekam will be done to Lord Muruga Moolavar and Utsavar with milk, curd, panchamirtham, tender coconut, sandal, paneer, honey, thiruneer, panchakavyam, fruit juices and other thiraviams amidst the chanting of Vedas.
Special alankaram like Santhana kappu, Thanga kavasa Kaapu, Raja Alankaram, Poo Alankaram will be done to Lord Murugan. Lord Muruga Utsavar will come in procession in the mada veethi's of temple and bless devotees.
Many devotees will undertake Paada Yatra wearing saffron or green clothes, take Kavadi, take Paal Kudam, Pierce Spear (Alagu Kuthuthal), Tonsure their Head, do Angapradakshinam on Thaipusam.
Lakhs of devotees will throng Lord Muruga Temples especially Arupadai Veedu Temples to have darshan of Deity. Devotees can be seen singing devotional hymns accompanied by the playing of percussion instruments in Temples
